Terrain - Facing & Backing

In fengshui, terrain is one of the important factors of consideration. It is also a factor that we have little control over. Terrain moulds the characteristic of the land a house or a building is situated.

What’s in front of your property is known as “ming tang” which will determine the quality of “chi” that would enter the premise. It is, of course, ideally to be slightly lower than the land of the property. Tall building, high walls or mountains in front of the house will accumulate more “yin” energy which is unfavorable for we, yang dwellers, as it could cause health problems and hindrance to career development of the occupants.

As for the back of the property, it should be of a higher land and preferably have a tall building or structure that is higher than the property. As this will provide “support” to the occupants. It also acts as a shield of the “chilling wind” especially for houses that faces South and Southeast that is believed to cause chronic health condition and ill fortune.

Pay a little more attention to the surrounding the next time you go house hunting.

May you be aligned with the “chi”.
